How to use the ‘Rites of Passage’ Canvas:
1️⃣ Reflect on the Past Year (Positive & Negative):
Begin by reviewing the positive aspects of the year (achievements, growth, improvements). Then, explore the challenges or areas that didn’t go as planned. Use these insights to identify patterns, areas of success, and opportunities for growth.
2️⃣ Identify What to Keep and Regain:
- From the positives, determine what habits, practices, or achievements you want to carry forward.
- From the challenges, decide what you want to prioritize regaining in the new year.
3️⃣ Integrate Learnings:
Reflect on how to integrate these lessons into the coming year. Consider what you must remove, change, or add to achieve your goals.
4️⃣ Define Action Steps (Remove, Change, Add):
Use the final three sections of the template to outline clear action steps:
- Remove: What will you stop doing to free up energy or resources?
- Change: What new approaches will you take to improve results?
- Add: What new habits, routines, or goals will you introduce?
Practical Tips:
- Be Honest: Reflection works best when you’re honest about both your successes and challenges.
- Prioritize: Focus on the changes that will have the greatest impact on your life or team.
- Collaborate: When using this with a team, foster an open and respectful dialogue to create alignment and trust.
- Follow Up: Revisit your Rites of Passage Template regularly to track progress and adjust as needed.
