Data driven leadership is a holistic approach to leadership that makes data the basis of entrepreneurial action. Data driven services, digital business models and radical changes in corporate strategies are major challenges for traditional companies. Leaders today need a deep understanding of data and how to effectively incorporate it into data driven decision-making. They must become a Data Leader. However, this is not just about data, as the digital economy also demands new approaches to strategy, culture and people in order to use data effectively and for success.
In an MIT Sloan study (2019), only 9% of respondents felt that their organization already had leaders with the skills. A further 12% of respondents stated that their managers have the necessary data-driven mindset for leadership.
These results show: Technology skills are not enough. Leaders must also learn to build digital communities of trust and diversity through new leadership principles in order to achieve their goals.
Our Data Driven Leadership workshop for executives is designed as a learning journey and combines these two core areas: by helping executives to apply data, analytics and algorithms in combination with people-oriented leadership principles in daily practice.

This Learning Journey consists of three integrated elements: Classroom training, challenges in self-organized learning groups and on-demand learning. In 7 modules, our experienced trainers provide helpful insights and skills relating to data-driven leadership, which are further developed in self-organized learning groups.
The active application of the content in everyday working life is crucial in order to not only deepen new knowledge, but also to achieve visible success for your organization. To make this possible, we provide participants with a wide range of exercises and tools that ensure an exceptional and successful learning experience and outcome.
In addition, we can tailor this learning journey to your organization and enable managers to act like in-house consultants and develop concrete approaches for Data Driven Business.
Data Driven Leadership ensures that each individual manager becomes a driver of change through data and AI – and does not unwittingly prevent it. Changes very often also require new skills and abilities from the people affected. The training is provides these skills and abilities and will be tailored to your specific requirements. This ensures that your managers master exactly the principles, skills and tools that are important for your company.
The advantage of a data-driven approach is faster, better and more comprehensible decisions. Managers make many decisions quickly. Decisions are often based on experience, intuition or gut feeling – they can be influenced by unconscious bias. Data-based decision-making means that managers and teams use existing or new data sources to make decisions and thus arrive at better decisions. These are comprehensible and proven.
Core competencies for data-driven leadership are a basic understanding of data sources and structures, analytics methods and technological concepts (data literacy). Allowing new perspectives is also an important skill. Data-based decisions can turn out differently than usual, and new and more perspectives are integrated. Data-driven leadership is also a cultural change and influences collaboration, co-creation and decision-making.
Almost every leadership situation can be accompanied by data-driven strategies. Depending on the field of action, function, situation or problem, data can be used to improve the quality of decisions. Data-driven leadership is becoming a deeply rooted leadership competence.
This question is difficult to answer because there are thousands of trainers and even more offers.
In general, we stand for New Leadership, so we don’t rehash theories from the 80s/90s. We don’t just impart knowledge with PowerPoint – there is often no shortage of that – but concentrate on application, experience, reflection and shared learning. And we don’t deliver standard formats, but adapt each training course to your specific requirements and needs.
In principle, many of our management training courses support cultural change at their core, i.e. they go beyond the mere transfer of skills. This makes leadership training a foundation for your organizational development.
The Data Driven Leadership training is designed as a 4-day event or as a learning journey over several weeks. Depending on your requirements or those of the participants, we can run this as a complete event or in several sessions.
If we choose the Learning Journey format, participants deepen what they have learned by working independently (also in groups) and learning on the job.
At best, every employee in a leadership role. Data Driven Leadership is new to everyone, so we do not impose any restrictions on our part. The mix of first line managers, middle and senior executives in particular often creates an interesting dynamic and a fruitful exchange.
Each training or program is developed to meet the specific requirements of your company. This begins with a co-creation, concept phase, iterative improvements and a roll-out. We don’t do anything “off the shelf”, but immerse ourselves deeply in your culture and structure. In this way, our work becomes part of your organizational development.
Admittedly, this is a challenge. How do you combine universal New Leadership principles and new leadership skills with very specific, strategic topics such as digitalization, AI or sustainability?
