Stephan Grabmeier is a future designer and is one of the best-known players in the field of Sustainable Business. He specializes in the implementation of future processes and sustainable transformation.
As a business angel, he supports impact start-ups and is part of the social business activities of Nobel Peace Prize winner Prof. Muhammad Yunus. With teaching assignments at the University of Duisburg-Essen, ESCP Business School and Kühne Logistics University, he teaches relevant future skills.
Stephan is a prolific author, and his latest work “Impact Business Design – the Guide to Sustainable Business (Enkelfähiges Wirtschaften)” is emerging as the new standard for organizational development in the 21st century.
With his workshop as an Impact Business Designer, Stephan is focusing on building the Impact Design Collective, a movement for designers of good change.

Stephan is a sought-after speaker with over 35 appearances per year at congresses, conferences and festivals. He speaks on his key topics of Design Futuring, Sustainable Transformation and Leadership as well as Sustainable Empowerment.
Stephan is the author of 3 of his own books and co-author of 20 others, as well as a columnist in business magazines.
He currently writes his column “Re:thinking Sustainability” for Haufe Sustainability. His latest book “Impact Business Design – der Guide zur Modellierung enkelfähiger Organisationen” (Vahlen Verlag) was published in summer 2023. Stephan regularly speaks in podcasts. Stephan has been living in Bonn again since 2018 after his last 3-year stay in Switzerland. His two own children and the three children in his patchwork relationship give him the drive every day and show him how important it is to reflect on the grandchildren’s ability to act and implement solutions for a better world.
His purpose is: “I inspire people to develop in order to create a better world”.
As a former competitive athlete, he loves sporting challenges and enjoys physical exertion. He likes climbing, loves the mountains and enjoys ski touring. He plays tennis and paddle and enjoys the triathlon disciplines he used to compete in. With Hyrox, he has found a new competitive discipline in addition to tennis.
Stephan is wholeheartedly optimistic about the future. You can sense this in every encounter with him.
